COURSE GOAL: To develop NRA Certified Instructors who possess the knowledge, skills, and attitude necessary to conduct NRA Refuse To Be A Victim Seminars.

COURSE DESCRIPTION: Refuse To Be A Victim® is NRA’s award-winning personal safety and crime prevention program. This instructor development workshop will provide you with the training and credentials required to teach Refuse To Be A Victim® Seminars in your community. These sought-after seminars teach participants how to improve their personal safety strategies, and what techniques and tactics can be used to help avoid becoming easy victims of crime. In general, seminars heighten public awareness of what can and should be done to stay safe.

This course includes two (2) days of training, approx. 12 hours total:
-NRA Refuse To Be A Victim Seminar (student level course, required pre-requisite)
-NRA Refuse To Be A Victim Instructor Training

INSTRUCTOR CANDIDATE REQUIREMENTS:

Be 18 years of age or older

Have a clear criminal record
-
Attend class day(s) as scheduled above

Instructor Candidates will be evaluated on professionalism, appearance (positive image in speech, behavior and dress), public speaking skills, attitude and commitment. Upon successful completion of this Instructor Development Workshop, Instructor Candidates will be endorsed by the Regional Training Counselor to be certified to teach the NRA Refuse To Be A Victim Seminars.

WHAT YOU'LL RECEIVE: Instructor Development Workshop Kit, which includes the RTBAV instructor's manual, promotional DVD, Instructor CD, RTBAV student packet, which includes the student handbook, student firearm supplement, seminar participation certificate, RTBAV program brochure, and "Become a RTBAV Instructor" brochure.
