COURSE GOAL: To develop NRA Certified Instructors who possess the knowledge, skills, and attitude necessary to conduct the NRA Basics of Pistol Shooting Course.
This course includes one (1) full day of training:
-NRA Rifle Instructor Training Course
-NRA Basics of Rifle Shooting Course (student level course, required pre-requisite) will be accomplished the day prior, with separate registration and deposit payment as noted above.
INSTRUCTOR CANDIDATES ARE REQUIRED TO ATTEND BOTH DAYS AS SCHEDULED ABOVE, AND MUST BE CURRENT ON THEIR NRA BASIC INSTRUCTOR TRAINING (BIT) WITHIN THE LAST 24 MONTHS.
DUE TO RANGE LIMITATIONS, INSTRUCTORS ARE REQUIRED TO UTILIZE RIMFIRE RIFLES FOR QUALIFICATION.
Instructor Candidates must attend and pass the NRA Basics of Rifle Shooting Course as noted on the schedule above, and score a 90% or better on the written test along with the shooting qualification. Prior to the Instructor Training, all candidates will complete a pre-course questionnaire and demonstrate their firearm proficiency in pre-course assessment exercises, including a shooting qualification. Upon successful completion of this Course, Instructor Candidates will be certified by the NRA to teach the NRA Basics of Rifle Shooting Course.
