TIME:  8 hours (approx.), starting at 8:00 AM (please arrive  early)

BRING:  Rifle and 150 rounds ammunition (rimfire rifles are REQUIRED for this course, due to range limitations), eye and ear protection, note taking materials, lunch/snacks and drinks, driver's license (must be a US Citizen or lawful permanent resident).

CLASS FEE:  $125 total, $50 Non-Refundable Deposit is due at sign up (please see Policies).

HOW TO REGISTER:  Fill out the registration form for the desired class date, and then pay your deposit by Paypal (click on the Pay Now button on this page), or make arrangements to mail a check.  You will receive confirmation of your registration and deposit payment, along with directions to the classroom/range.

DESCRIPTION:  This class is the NRA Basics of Rifle Shooting Course, and teaches the basic knowledge, skills and attitude necessary for the safe use of a rifle in target shooting.

Please note that we will have NO LIVE AMMO in the classroom, so secure your firearm and ammo in your locked vehicle outside for safety purposes during the classroom portion of the day.

-NRA’s rules for safe gun handling

-Rifle parts and operation

-Ammunition

-Shooting fundamentals

-Range rules

-Shooting from the bench rest, prone, sitting, standing and kneeling positions

-Cleaning

-Continued opportunities for skill development

Students will receive the Basics of Rifle Shooting handbook, NRA Gun Safety Rules brochure, Winchester/NRA Marksmanship Qualification booklet, take a Basics of Rifle Shooting Student Examination, and receive a course completion certificate.
